Malina is 23-year-old MBA graduate from Dharan.She was crowned the title among the 19 contestant in the 18th series of the beauty contest held at Nepal Army Officers Club in Kathmandu this afternoon.
Miss Nepal 2010 Sadichha Shrestha handed over the crown to Malina Joshi after she was announced Miss Nepal 2011 in a tight contest where she beat her fellow contestant, 22-year-old Anupama Gurung, just by a small margin.
Gurung was crowned the first runner up while 24-year-old Sarina Maskey was crowned the second runner up. Likewise, Manisha Bista was crowned the third runner up and Neha Poudel the fourth runner up.
The Miss Nepal contest, which is organised by Hidden Treasure, an institute for professional development is the biggest beauty pageant of the country.The winner of the event is qualified to compete in Miss World while 1st runner up and 2nd runner up become eligible to contest in Miss Earth and Miss International pageants respectively
Sadichha Shrestha was crowned the Miss Nepal 2010 last year.
